Commercial solar grants in Ireland
The main commercial solar grant in Ireland is the SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant. It pays up to €162,600 at the standard rate. For applications from 7 October 2026 to 6 July 2027 it is doubled, to a maximum of €325,200, capped at 45% of the invoiced cost.
SEAI commercial solar grant rates
| System size | Standard rate | Enhanced rate, to 6 July 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 kWp | €900 | €1,800 |
| 2 to 6 kWp | €1,800 at 2 kWp, €2,100 at 3 kWp, €2,400 at 4 to 6 kWp | €3,600 at 2 kWp, €4,200 at 3 kWp, €4,800 at 4 to 6 kWp |
| 7 to 20 kWp | €300 per kWp | €600 per kWp |
| 21 to 200 kWp | €200 per kWp | €400 per kWp |
| 201 to 1,000 kWp | €150 per kWp | €300 per kWp |
| Maximum, at 1,000 kWp | €162,600 | €325,200 |
Each rate applies to the kWp inside its band, so a larger system gets the higher rate on its first kWp. There is one application per property, so size the system for your full need the first time.
The enhanced rate, to 6 July 2027
SEAI pays double the standard figure or 45% of the invoiced cost, whichever is lower. It applies to new applications made from 7 October 2026. Applications made before that are not increased.
